Cherry Street Pier Wins Historical Preservation Award
March 22nd, 2019
Scungio Borst is happy to announce that the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) is the recipient of the 2019 Preservation Achievement Grand Jury Award from the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia for the historic preservation of Cherry Street Pier.
Cherry Street Pier is the renovation of an existing unoccupied century-old municipal pier into a mixed-use space. The pier offers workspaces, various venues, shops, and a park. The development of the pier involved a range of carefully chosen interventions, including selectively removing a portion of the roof and repairing the stone head houses, in order to preserve and celebrate the historic value of the structure.
Scungio Borst & Associates served as the construction manger for the Cherry Street Pier that finished construction October 2018.
