Who We Support

A Child Life Program at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ consists of a dedicated team of Child Life Specialists who understand that illness and hospitalization are stressful events in the lives of children and their families. Having a strong background in child development and family systems, Child Life Specialists use age-appropriate education, preparation, medical and therapeutic play, and supportive activities to promote effective coping and optimal development in children facing challenging healthcare experiences. The Child Life team strives to make the hospital experience a positive one by offering psychosocial and emotional support to children and families.

Mighty Writers is an organization that provides free food distribution, writing workshops, educational resources, and career guidance to young adults and children in Camden, NJ, and Philadelphia, PA. Their mantra has always been “Teach kids to think clearly so they can write with clarity”.

Teddy’s Toys for Camden Kids is an annual toy drive in memory of Theodore “Teddy” Hinson, Sr and his enduring commitment to give back to his community by providing holiday cheer to the children of Camden. This and other Camden-based charities are always the recipients of funds raised at our event.
